Northern Region, Ghana

Overview

Mole National Park is Ghana's largest and most prestigious wildlife protected area, covering approximately 4,840 square kilometers of savannah and woodland in the Northern Region. The park's pristine wilderness offers visitors an authentic African safari experience with opportunities to see elephants, antelopes, baboons, warthogs, and various predators in their natural habitat.

What makes Mole National Park truly special is its accessibility and the unique walking safari experiences it offers. Unlike many African wildlife reserves, Mole allows guided walking safaris where visitors can get remarkably close to wildlife under the protection of armed rangers. The park features the Mole Motel, situated on a escarpment with stunning views of a waterhole where elephants and other animals regularly gather. This combination of diverse wildlife, accessible viewing opportunities, and comfortable accommodation makes Mole a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers.
